Assam: Elderly Couple Found Dead In Udalguri District

Guwahati: Assam police on Wednesday recovered the dead bodies of an elderly couple from their residence in the state's Udalguri district.

As per reports, the couple was found in a hanging state and were identified as Balram Bodo and Santana Bodo.

Locals have claimed that their living conditions were very poor.

Upon receiving the information of same, the local police reached the spot and took the body under their custody, and later sent it for post-mortem.

As per police, it has come to the fore that they have committed suicide as they were reportedly poverty-stricken, however, after the post-mortem it will be clarified.

Meanwhile, there has been another claim which says that the wife was strangled to death by the husband before he committed suicide by hanging.
